A piece of furniture that fulfills a genuine need. The Thérèse Chair was created in partnership with WeShelter, an organization dedicated to supporting homeless and vulnerable people.
When individuals transition out of homelessness and into housing, they often enter an apartment completely devoid of furniture, lighting, or kitchenware. This can be overwhelming, especially since most lack the financial means to purchase even the most basic necessities.
The Thérèse Chair is designed to be the very first piece of furniture in their new home. It is donated by a citizen who has purchased an identical chair. The concept is straightforward: When you buy a chair, you simultaneously donate one to someone who has experienced homelessness.
This project is a call for empathy, mindfulness, and the ability to step into someone else’s shoes.
